Hawzah News Agency- Hojatoleslam Masoud Mohammadi, speaking in an interview in the western Iranian city of Sanandaj, said Washington’s regional deployment strategy serves two central objectives: containing the growing influence of the Islamic Republic of Iran and ensuring the security of Israel.
Congratulating Muslims on the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan, the cleric described the month as a “divine opportunity” for spiritual renewal, social solidarity, and deeper engagement with the Holy Qur’an. He emphasized that Ramadan reinforces unity among Muslims worldwide and strengthens their moral resolve in the face of external pressures.
Turning to geopolitical issues, Mohammadi said hostility toward Iran has persisted since the victory of the Iranian Revolution in 1979. “From the earliest days of the Revolution until today, adversaries have sought to prevent Iran’s power and influence from expanding beyond its borders,” he noted, adding that such efforts have failed to halt Tehran’s regional and international presence.
He dismissed recurring U.S. and Israeli military threats as longstanding tactics that have not succeeded in weakening Iran. “For over four decades, Iran has faced political, economic, and military pressure. Yet none of these measures have been able to inflict lasting damage on the foundations of the Islamic system,” he said.
According to Hojatoleslam Mohammadi, Washington is fully aware that a direct military confrontation with Iran would carry significant costs. As a result, he argued, the United States has increasingly turned to what he described as “soft warfare,” including media campaigns and psychological operations aimed at eroding public confidence within Iran.
“The enemy is attempting to influence minds through satellite networks and media channels, spreading misinformation to undermine national unity and self-confidence,” he stated.
Hojatoleslam Mohammadi concluded by asserting that the primary driver behind U.S. deployments in the region is the protection of Israel. “The United States maintains its presence in the region not for stability, but to shield the Zionist Regime and to contain a strong and independent Iran,” he said, reaffirming the Iranian nation’s commitment to defending its sovereignty and political system.
